The Griffin Trust serves the poorest inner city 'garrison' communities of Kingston Jamaica, where gunshot is the lullaby heard most nights. Over the last three years the Trust has developed the popular Unity Summer Camp which brings together children from across 'warring' communities of Kingston 11 (Olympic Gardens). Assistance to the local Basic Schools and the After School Club includes Computer Aided Reading and Maths skills, and looks to add Dedicated Readers in the Basic Schools to enhance the learning opportunities of children in the economically and socially deprived communities we serve.
The senior citizens of the communities are now able to access Day Care, health and nutrition assistance and social activities at the St. Paul's Drop In Centre, part-funded by the British High Commission.
